Yesterday we spent the morning basking in the shade of a mighty boulder at the base of Uluru. It was a 36 degree day and I had this overwhelming sense that we were playing out a scene that had been enacted by families for eons....
We watched our children play, explore, bicker, laugh and learn.
We ate yummy food to fuel our bodies and drank gallons of water to hydrate us. The grown ups told stories.
And played music to while away the time and fill our hearts with song. Needless to say we were practicing 'Solid Rock'!
The boys practiced their boomerang throwing under the careful tutelage of Captain Pancake. Ok, maybe there weren't pink zebra stripper hats in the ancient times but you get the drift.
Thank you Uluru for your shelter and an opportunity to just be with you. We didn't achieve the base walk but we did achieve a sense of place and connection.
