I have invented a new way to make instant iced coffee.
It is literally coffee frozen in ice cube form popped into a glass of milk.
But it's in a jar!! How freaking hipster is that!
I love all sorts of food whether its
bush tucker, homemade burgers or five star bouillabaisse.
I hope you enjoy following my food journey!
Cheers, Flex

While we stayed in Fernie we enjoyed lots of delectable delights cooked up by our friend Louie. Like this dish of perogies and sausage! Perogies are parcels of potato and various other fillings. They originated in the Ukraine and have become a Canadian staple. They are usually served with sour cream, fried onion and sauerkraut. And are a stodgy food after a long day at the snow hill. Double mini cheeseburger with Caesar salad at Kelseys. One word; delicious! This burger though, takes the cake. Yummmmy, cake.....;) We had an Aussie burger night with all our Aussie friends in town. Troppo bacon with good Aussie beetroot fair dinkum mate! ALBERTA BEEF!!!!!! The province of Alberta is renowned for its beef and nothing makes me more happy than a big hunk of COW! The stay in Fernie wouldn't be the same without the food and and therefore wouldn't be the same without Louie. She worked as the cook in tree planting camps and learned how to cook for lots of people. We were lucky to have her as our personal chef!!! Probably the best pie I have ever eaten in my entire life. But we will get to that in a minute... The evening kick started with some elk sausage, Swiss cheese and crackers. The sausage was extremely 'gamey' but I liked it. Two of the other guests had brought a snack platter of guocamole, salsa and red and white corn chips... The snacks were delicious. While we were waiting for the pie to cook we decided to pass the time bye doing something we had never done before.... Bongo boarding! When the pie had cooked we started to dig in! The moose was tracked down and killed by our host Emmet. Amazing pie. Tasted like the wilderness wrapped in pastry. Finally it was time for dessert...which we were in charge of. Mint cookie chip and peanut butter crunch ice creams with chocolate ice magic and raspberries in a waffle bowl. Scrumptious and an interesting combination! An incredible dinner party with great people, phenomenal food and lots of laughs! Today we decided to go to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and get some SUGER!! This particular suger was a double dipped caramel Toffee apple with bits of Diame(a hard crunchy caramel crisp covered in chocolate) on the outside and gooey caramel on the inside! This sort of candy feel warm and gooey on the inside I rate it 9 1/2 out if 10! Today was Lucky's and My first time snowboarding it was hard work so we decided to have a lunch break. For lunch we had a homemade ham, lettuce and mayo sandwich and a store bought coke which my mum always says tastes best after you've been snowboarding and it does. The sandwich was great and a perfect meal after some hard snowboarding. Tonight we made some great vegetarian tacos. Instead of meat there was black beans and it tasted just great! While we were staying at Jen and Wendy's house we had some great meals here's one. Bacon and eggs on toast, First morning in Calgary Wendy made us breakfast, Eggs were great but the bacon oh the bacon was AMAZING! Best bacon I've ever had! Chicken Burger and a Coke. The chicken burger was salty and plasticky and was a mediocre start to the airplane food experience:( Mum was so relived to be on the plane that she let us have a coke. It tasted like uh well, coke ;) Who cares what the food tasted like we were on our way! |
